CATIONIC ASPHALT EMULSIONS

CATIONIC ASPHALT EMULSIONS

CATIONIC ASPHALT EMULSIONS

Cationic asphalt emulsions are dark brown liquids of distinctly acid character containing road asphalt, water, emulsifiers and other components.

Cationic emulsions are suitable for all types of aggregates, preferably of acid or neutral character.

KATEBIT R 65 M

(C65BP4) – fast fissile cationic modified asphalt emulsion for road coatings.

KATEBIT R 65

(C65B4) – fast fissile cationic asphalt emulsion for road coatings and repairs.

KATEBIT T 60 M

(C60BP5) – medium fissile cationic asphalt modified emulsion for binding sprays.спреїв.

KATEBIT T 40

(C40B5) - medium fissile cationic asphalt emulsion for binding sprays.

KATEBIT PSM

(C60BP7) – slow fissile cationic asphalt emulsion for coating with greater rigidity.

KATEBIT PS

(C60B7) – stable cationic asphalt emulsion for coating of aggregates and recyclates.

Asphalt cationic emulsions KATEBIT R 65M and T 60M contain SBS-based modified asphalt, KATEBIT PSA is modified by latex.

(Designations in brackets are valid in accordance with ČSN EN 13808:2006 Specification system of road emulsion. EN 13808 was being reviewed at the time of publishing of this catalogue. After the revision, the classification and designation in brackets will change.)

Use: asphalt cationic emulsions KATEBIT are suitable for construction and maintenance of roads and land road structures, airports, transportation and other surfaces. They can be used as connecting sprays, road coatings, repairs of road holes – both manual and mechanical, sealing of cracks, cold coated mixtures and cold recycling. During recycling it is necessary to comply with relevant technical standards (ČSN) and technical conditions of the Ministry of Transport (TP). Cationic asphalt emulsions KATEBIT are intended for cold processing. They are applied at the minimum temperature of +5 °C. They can be heated to up to 60 °C once. In case of risk of freezing or raining, these emulsions must not be applied. It is recommended to shortly stir the emulsions when stored at rest and before processing. They must not get in contact with anionic emulsions or other alkaline substances since this would cause their precipitation.

Katebit R 65, R 65M - for maintenance of asphalt roads by coating technology;

Katebit T 40, T 60 M - for binding sprays (preliminary, intermediate sprays) in the amount of 0.2 to 0.5 kg/m2;

Katebit PS - for repairs of bituminous roads (potholes), for filling and evening cut-outs, for building and repairing of pavements;

Katebit PS, PSM - for cold coating of aggregates and recyclates.

Processing: cold processing. The emulsion temperature might range between 40 to 70 °C, in accordance with relevant implementing standards and processing regulations.

Transport: all types of asphalt road emulsions are supplied in truck cisterns. Katebit PS (C60B6) can also be supplied in barrels with a volume of 200 l.

Storage: cationic emulsions are stored in clean tanks or other suitable containers. Storage tanks for cationic emulsions must not be used after anionic emulsions in order to prevent the emulsion degradation. The temperature during storage must not drop below +5 °C. Emulsions should be thoroughly stirred before use. Sucking by a gear pump is possible. Freezing temperatures permanently damage all emulsions. Asphalt emulsions Katebit are inflammable liquids in accordance with ČSN 65 0201. They are intended for fast processing – the performance properties are retained for at least 6 weeks. Shelf life of Katebit PS/PN is 6 months from the date of manufacture when storing conditions in accordance with PN 23-012 are met.
