A bit of history

In 1889, David Fantoe opened a plant for the distillation and further processing of crude oil in Pardubice town. A year later, another plant was opened in Kolin. The proximity of the Labe River and the railways were key attributes for the location of the construction site of the oil refinery. In 1907, the company David Fanto was re-registered in a joint-stock company with a registered capital of 12 million crowns, which included factories in Hungary, branches in Paris, oilfields in the city of Borislav, a large fleet of oil tankers and transshipment stations.
