ASPHALT PRODUCTS SUITABLE FOR GLUING

PARASTICK – ASPHALT GLUE
Adhesive substance on the basis of diluted asphalt, synthetic rubber and resin. It is characterized by high strength of connection
and adhesion even after drying. At normal temperature it has the consistency of a brown-black liquid.
Use: for gluing of asphalt insulation strips and similar roof coverings and also as a primer of concrete joints before applying the asphalt sealing compound. The main advantage is that it does not lose the adhesive capacity for instance to plastics in very lower temperatures, unlike all other asphalt materials. PARASTICK is designed so that the strength, toughness and durability of the glued connection fully meet the adhesion requirements for both modified and unmodified asphalt strips. Informative tear strength is 10 to 20 N/m. The slide resistance at a heat exposure of 70 °C for 2 hours meets the requirement for a roof inclination of up to 30 °. The PARASTICK glue is a very good waterproofing material. After application it has a high equivalent diffusion thickness that indicates very low permeability of the asphalt glue layer of water vapor (in technical thermal terminology this is called a vapor barrier).
The stated properties constitute the basic prerequisites also for gluing concrete tiles and other paving elements to outside concrete base materials. In these situations, PARASTICK can be used as the adhesive mastic capable of reducing the mechanical stress. In case of application of unsuitable glue, this stress could form on the border of two differently rigid materials (paving – concrete). If paving is laid on balconies and loggia, PARASTICK works as a waterproofing material and a vapor barrier.
Processing: gluing of asphalt strips – the strips do not need to be modified before gluing, the separation polyethylene film on their back (glued) side does not have to be removed. This film is etched by the glue, it disintegrates to small particles and disperses in the glue as a dispersed phase. An adequate amount of PARASTICK is poured to a dry or wet base, which is free of gross impurities. After applying the asphalt glue, smooth or shallow geared profile spatula or paint brush, roll or asphalt brush are used. The glue is spread by a pre-prepared roll of asphalt strip with a length of several meters in order to cover the whole glued surface. Before the roll is unfolded, a strip is placed on such coated surface and it binds with the glue by its own weight. The estimated consumption is 0.3–0.5 kg/m2 based on the base texture. Do not dilute, everything is ready for use from the producer. Do not use in closed areas.
Packaging and storage: the glue paint is supplied in 9 kg canisters and 44 kg barrels. They are stored in sealed packages in sheltered warehouses. Paint containers must not be exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight.

Use: to glue construction materials to the base material, namely floor stiles, thermal insulation boards from polystyrene or fibrous boards. It is applied by a gear spatula. It provides the required shear strength of glued joints on concrete-wood and wood-polystyrene surfaces.
Consumption: 0.7 kg/m2. Processing:by spatula. Do not dilute, everything is ready for use from the producer.
